HANSAR HOTEL: Happiness of the 5 senses

Bangkok is bursting with treasures , worth crossing oceans  for again and again.  There is no fitting place to stay at than HANSAR HOTEL – the city of smiles's newest urban boutique oasis!  Strategically located in the main commercial artery of Bangkok (just one stop to SIAM PARAGON and SUKHUMVIT malls), this 19-floor-tall paradise is tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle at Rajdamri Road . As I  greeted the hotel reception good morning, I got back a “have a Hansar day.” I didn’t quite understand the greeting at first, but the meaning became clear during my stay. It was very evident that the hotel joins the top of hotel comfort with the luxuries they offer every guest: a portfolio of exceptionally decorated suites; the soft embrace of a king-sized bed (they made the word clouds and beds synonymous), their "PILLOW MENU" (best pillows I ever used!),  the soaking terrazzo tub and marble vanities in a stylish bathroom (fit for a Queen); the virtually inviolable sense of privacy (only upon check out did I learn that the 94-suite hotel had been full); the pampering skills of the Thai masseuse  (Ying) at Luxsa Spa ; food and beverage choices incomparable to others in both setting and exquisite quality. HANSAR Hotel endlessly surpassed my expectations from check-in thru check-out.

Suite memories

Prior to my arrival I had to choose which suite to book. I found out that Hansar Bangkok offers an all luxe suite . May it be the Studio Suite, Urban Suite, Edge Suite, Vertigo Suite or the Loft Suite, you are sure to have an innovative and highly spacious suite that seems to mould to your every need.  Since I was with  my BFF, Shiera, I opted to book the Vertigo Suite a sprawling 72 sq. meter of pure luxury. I am convinced that all suites are personal sanctuaries. I did experience impeccable comfort and essential indulgence. I got to enjoy the fresh exotic thai fruits that welcomed me as I entered my suite, 2 plasma screen TV (living room and bedroom), DVD player and Ipod docking stations, the blissful king-sized bed, the rain showers, wi-fi internet, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily that would quench your thirst for those yummy treats you ordered from the room service and the enticing bath salts and flowers for the custom-made tubs. The spoiling of guests did not stop there because my room had a nice view of the infinity-edge pool and was surrounded by a wall of tropical greenery that gave a natural feel to the whole set up… such a relaxing view! It was a place as unique and multifaceted as the Thai capital itself.

Leisurely Pursuits

Every meal was a celebration of my palette, basically because I had 4 superb wining and dining outlets to choose from, all with mouth-watering menus. On my first breakfast (very late.. perhaps I can call it already brunch, lol), I decided to try out Shine, the hotel’s breakfast café by the infinity-edge swimming pool, offering Western and Asian specialties paired with the my preferred "brunch drinks", the pina collada and mango-strawberry shake by the pool bar’s Zest (FYI, I booked the area again to host a thanksgiving lunch to all my dear friends and biz networks in Bangkok). The delightful meal was perfect as the warm and comforting morning- sun enhanced my tan. Perched on the edge of the cityscape, I went for a quick rejuvenating dip at the Jacuzzi (yeah right I look now 10 yrs younger).

One of the many things I like about this trip is the fact that I get to keep my fitness regime (Finally, someone is happy to know that----> my Personal Trainer back home)! This is an important activity on my normal everyday schedule. It usually gets bumped off my agenda when I’m on my trips. At the hotel’s fitness centre, with my favorite tunes on, I was able to log a few miles on the treadmill as I look onto the majestic Royal Bangkok Sport Club. Since my PT isn't with me for this trip, friendly trainers were there to assist as I went from one equipment to the next.

Right before I went out in the city, I grabbed a bite at Café Boca. It is great for casual lunches, quick snacks and bites-to-go with its gourmet sandwiches, paninis, salads, quiches and other delectable delicacies for your culinary enjoyment.

After having 'quality time" with my credit cards  by  shopping  at the various spots in the city, it was time for me and my card to relax. Cards were safely tucked away inside my suite's vault while I put myself into a zen mode at Luxsa Spa.  After briefing me on what treatments I needed for that 3 hours session and what oils and scrubs I prefered, the spa manager assisted me to my very own Spa Suite. I was able to relax in the jacuzzi, to take a shower and steambath at the sauna room right before my actual treatment… all by myself. privacy at its best! BRAVO! I got the signature treatment, which they called the Luxsa .  The treatment stimulated my metabolism, it relieved mental and physical fatigues, reduced stress and tension  and stabilized the nervous system. I felt really rejuvenated afterwards as the comprehensive treatment tingled all my senses.

To start my evening correctly,  I tried out Hansar's latest addition to Bangkok's pulsating nightlife, VUE. As one of my local Thai friends said, "Vue is where past, present and future tycoons converge and toast to the good life.  It definitely was a place to see and to be seen. It has every drink concoction that exists, all you have to do is choose your "poison of the moment".

For dinner I tried the French-inspired menu at  Eve's . The place exudes sophistication, romance and coziness all at the same time. I could not resist the  temptation of  "EVE", thus I surrendered to the mouth-watering  Wagyu Beef Short Rib, which was slow cooked for 24 hours with garlic mashed potato, carrot, cauliflower and pommery sauce. Now I know why Adam is so fragile when he visits "Eve" *grin*

I discussed the party am hosting with Hansar's super cool and very efficient hotel manager, Khun Jeerasak,  I specifically told him I wanted to see Bangkok dazzle and sparkle at night.  Well Khun Jeerasak never failed to surprise moi. Hansar just got the perfect spot for me.  He toured me all the way up the hotel’s Sky Terrace, the city’s newest outdoor rooftop events space with a private outdoor deck overlooking the city and an indoor bar and reception area.  Not only can I have my very own party, but my friends and I can have our very own "heaven".

In a gist, Hansar Hotel - Bangkok offers a prestigious  and convenient address with enchanted views of Bangkok greenery, unrivaled architectural sophistication, exceptional comfort and amenities to please the most discerning traveler (like you and moi), thus the perfect formula to be in a moment of full joy and happiness, the very meaning of the Thai word, Hansar. After 6 nights and 7 days in this paradise in the middle of a bustling city, I can truly say I had a "very Hansar stay"…… next stop HANSAR Beach resort in Koh SamuiI!!
